My Erin Condren Planner Review with Pictures!

I don't think I've mentioned it a lot here on my blog but I became totally obsessed with the Erin Condren Life Planners over the past several months. I've always had a thing for planners but have never found one that I have really loved and wanted to use long-term. Then I stumbled across Erin Condren and her amazing, customizable life planners. I fell in love.

The only problem was the price tag on those pretty little things. $50 was way out of my price range for a daily planner. Despite the fact that it's something I will be using everyday basically throughout the year, I simply do not have an extra $50 sitting around for a fancy planner. I waited patiently, knowing that one day, I would get one, somehow. To show you just how crazy I became about them, I regularly went to her website and went through all the steps of creating my planner, all the way to the checkout process to see if the price had miraculously changed! As you can probably imagine, the price stayed the same, every time. But I still had fun, creating and personalizing several different ones until I decided on the one I would get if I ever was able to snag a deal on one.

Lucky for me, that's exactly what happened! At the beginning of December I saw a tweet about buying a $50 voucher for $25 to use on Erin Condren's website. I was ecstatic since my mom was planning on still getting me a few more things for Christmas. I quickly informed her that I wanted this for Christmas so I ordered the voucher and then ran, as much as one can online, over to place my order on the website.

I tracked the progress of my planner on a daily, hourly basis. I watched it go from pending to shipped to...delivered, bless my soul. I had no idea waiting for a planner would be this exciting. But it really was.

I had just told my mom to be on the lookout for the FedEx truck while I was out grocery shopping, when I stepped out into the garage and saw the FedEx truck parked right in front of my house! I rushed back into the house and went to the front door to find my beautiful box waiting for me on the porch.

Even the box is pretty...see?

So without anymore long descriptions of my excitement about my planner, here are some pictures I snapped of it for those who are curious as to why I'm so excited about it:

The front. I chose the Le Fluer design in Retro.

It's about the size of a medium sized notebook.

Lots of cool quotes peppered throughout the planner.

Special dates to fill in birthdays and anniversaries so you can see them at a glance. LOVE THIS FEATURE!

The month-at-a-glance page along with a colorful quote.

TABS for the months! Love the colors!

Week-at-a-glance. Love that each day is split into three times: morning, day & night.

Each month begins with a goals and to-do list so you know if you have anything major going on that month.

I love all the little details throughout the planner for the special dates.

Lots of pages for note-taking at the back.

Cute stickers for special days.

Yes please! I'll take both!

4 pages of blank stickers to write in what YOU need them to say!

A folder to keep important papers in. Also, a metaphor I need to take to heart!

Cool zipper pouch to keep things like stamps and my nifty, personalized labels!

Two different labels I got for putting on gifts from me and my family.

Last page is a laminated calendar with the next 2 years on it. I love being able to look ahead that far.

A cute post card that says it all! Also, on the back is my super secret code for $10 off my next order! WOO HOO!!
So there you have it. My super cute and uber functional life planner from Erin Condren. I know the price is high but if you find a code it's definitely worth it and if you are someone who really uses a planner a lot, you might think it's even worth the $50! I'll have a better idea by the end of next year if it's worth that much for me but I think I'll get my $25 worth for sure! If you are a teacher she has teacher planners that are extremely cute and have lots of neat things in them that will help you with your school year. If I had known I was going to be going back to teach this spring, I might have opted for one of those but it's too late for that now, maybe next school year though!

Check out all her awesome products on her website if you are one who orders a lot of cards and personalized stationary type things. She is quite pricey but if you like this kind of thing, you will probably find it well worth the money. And the customer service is awesome! I follow her on Twitter and she always responds to my tweets super quick!

In the future I think I will save the money and get the high quality products she provides because I'm so impressed with her company and how she runs it and that everything is made here in America! The more we buy from her the more she can expand and hire more people. :) It's a win-win!

And now, back to playing with my pretty planner!

(Just as a disclaimer, I am not in any way being compensated to write this review of the planner. That would ROCK, but it's not the case. I just really loved my planner and had several friends wanting pictures so I thought I would write a little bit to explain the pictures. Enjoy!)

A Very Perryman Christmas

So I kind of (well, totally) skipped over my Thanksgiving "What I'm Thankful For" post on here BUT, I really don't like to be stuck in these {post molds} so I've decided I don't have to do any post I don't feel 100% inspired to do. Does this make me a bad blogger/mother/person? Maybe, but I don't think so. I'm thankful everyday for many things and I will just make sure to mention things I'm thankful for throughout the year instead of all of them at once, one day a year. How's that for compromise? Ok, great. Thanks. I'm glad we agree on this. Let's move on.

So Christmas is this month. Did you hear that? Yea, Christmas is upon us! I can't believe we're already at my FAVORITE season/month of the year! I simply love going out to stores and hearing the Christmas music playing and seeing all the Christmas decorations and hearing people talk about their Christmas plans. It's magical and I absolutely love it.

This year (as I've mentioned in a previous post), I'm trying to start some family traditions that my girls can grow up remembering and enjoying and if they're so inclined, to pass on to their kids in the future. One of the traditions I wanted to start was something I only heard of for the first time last year. That is an Advent Calendar, or in our case, a Jesse Tree. The first one I ever heard of before was one from Ann Voskamp over at A Holy Experience. If you've never heard of her or been to her blog, you must! She is probably the most eloquent writer I've ever written when it comes to writing about every day living. It's beautiful and filled with Christian inspiration.

Her Jesse Tree download is awesome and I had never even heard of anything like that before. I wanted to do it but it's not very toddler friendly. It is perfect for when your kids get into maybe 1st grade and up (depending on the child of course) but for my little ones it was just a bit over their heads for now. Plus, it uses a lot of ink to print off and ink cartridges break the bank around our house so I couldn't actually afford to print hers off. One day though...one day.

So I was inspired by her Jesse Tree and went on the hunt to find a simpler one that would fit where we're at here in my house and I found the perfect one over at Life...Your Way. This is another blog/site that you really need to check out. It's awesome and has a ton of stuff to use to organize your life as well as fun things to do with kids. They cover just about every aspect of home life you can think of!

Their Jesse Tree was perfect for us! Only 5 pages to download and print, a list of passages to read with the corresponding ornament, and pretty simple ornaments to color and hang on the tree. I was set to go! So I downloaded it and went about deciding what we were going to use for our tree. After some thought and a trip to Michael's craft shop, I decided on buy a miniature Christmas tree since they had one for 50% at $4.49. I couldn't pass that up. So I bought it, along with an 8 piece miniature nativity ornament set to go along with our Jesse Tree ornaments and Voila! I was ready to go. Here is our tree so far and some up close shots of the nativity ornaments I bought:
Don't you love Brooklyn's coloring skills?

All smiles for this little girl!

Layla wasn't quite as excited.

Using my wedding centerpieces as Christmas mantle pieces.

This nativity scene was moved to my bar area.

I was given this nativity scene from my Grandma Ross. I decided to put it on my mantle. Isn't it beautiful?

I was given two of these by my mom. I think they're so cute!

A partial shot of my mantle.

My Christmas tree with the giant stocking my Grandma Ross made herself. Nothing like family-made decorations to keep in the family!

And a whole shot of my mantle.
Ok, so you might be wondering why I'm posting so many pictures of my decorations when I'm clearly not gifted in decorating. The answer to that question would be that for me, this was huge getting this much up around the house! And I didn't even include pictures of my small wreath hanging outside on the wall to the right of my door or the string of colored lights around our porch window. It's quite a Christmas party out on my porch this year. Well...maybe that's exaggerated, but compared to other years, it's the truth.

I've enjoyed many days since Thanksgiving playing Christmas music on the music channel through our satellite television provider. I have gotten to be home with my girls and actualy be in my house and enjoy my Christmas decorations this year. It's been wonderful and I look forward to the rest of the month, finishing our Jesse Tree and creating new family traditions and memories.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you have a wonderful month!
