Brooklyn

So I'm not going to be getting any mother-of-the-year awards any time soon. At least not this year. I absolutely forgot to blog (with pictures) about Brooklyn's 2nd birthday party. Even worse, I barely took any pictures at it! I'm so frustrated with myself!

So, en lieu of a birthday post, I'm dedicating this entire post to my beautiful, blonde hair, blue eyed angel daughter.

The next few pictures of her in blue are from today. She was sitting there acting silly for the camera and I got several good shots of her. She cracks me up!

Then there are her summer swimming pictures...

Next is one of the few pictures I actually took of her at her birthday party. (yea, I got NO pictures with her myself, OR with her dad OR with the cake I made her. But I did get a very good picture of her and her nana)

And these three were taken early in the summer at my mom's house in the very first swimming pool we ever got her (when she was just turning one).

This girl has kept us all on our toes. It takes more than one person to keep up with her when you take her out in public. She is extremely vocal about what she wants and what she thinks about everything. She has come up with several ways to call me: mommy, maw maw, and mom; it just depends on what mood she's in at the time. She already has a major attitude and I have no idea where she got that from...
She loves to be chased around the house. When she gets real quiet, you can usually find her under a table or behind a chair with my chapstick or something else she's not supposed to have (like a permanent marker or toilet paper). She finally recently completely stopped using a bottle and is now fully graduated to sippy cups only. (phew! I thought we were never going to break that habit!)

There are not enough words to describe this little fire cracker of a child but I couldn't love her more. She has definitely faced some challenges since her little sister arrived. She wasn't sure about sharing the attention and still struggles with it from time to time. When she wants you to pay attention to her but you have the baby, she has plenty of ideas of where you can put the baby and will go around pointing to them and naming them (baby swing, baby chair, baby night night...etc.). It's funny most of the time.

If I had to predict the future, I would say that this blonde beauty and I will be butting heads a lot. We already do and she barely can put a sentence together! She can be the sweetest little girl one second and turn around be a little stinker the next. (I also don't know where she got that from!)

She's absolutely perfect though and we wouldn't want her to be any other way.

So there is your update (with pictures!) of our first born. I'll hopefully be putting one together soon on our second born!

Very touching post. And you're doing a great job as a mom. It's the dad whose a lazy slouch...kidding. Keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks broda...I guess I do agree a little with the dad part though...LOL. I can't say that he's lazy when he works 60 hours a week or more sometimes. I'm glad you think I'm a good mom though. :)

Great post about Brooklyn! I think you're pretty accurate! She's a stinker, but we wouldn't change anything about her. I love that girl to piece:)

I always laugh at your stories of her. She is a handful that's for sure! She's a cutie!
